Gave this place a try as Somerset has little  to offer in Asian dining, however the sign says Steak House & Hybati grill and I don't see one except for back in the kitchen.

Things started off questionable when the salads arrive, just lettuce because they didn't have the rest of the ingredients. While I can appreciate that the waitress didn't want to give me bad tomatoes and cucumbers, I would have rather they just said they were out of salad vs. charging me for a bowl of lettuce.

Sushi made on site was tasty but nothing to rave over. Goza was fried perfectly.  Dad's bento box with stake was good.  Overall a 3.5 out of 5

Could I give this zero stars? Beware of this "restaurant". It may have been good in the past.... now it's a mess. How can you mess up sake? It was salty and tasted of vinegar, had to send it back. The gyoza were oily and tasted of old oil, sent it back. They had bits of other food stuck to the outside. The miso soup was a murky brownish color and was also too salty to eat. Sent it back..... the waitress was kind and was so apologetic. Ok, the Sapporo beer was good.

First time eating here. Went on a Sunday afternoon so the lunch menu wasn't an option for me. I think the prices are a bit high but they do give you a bunch of food. My wife and I split a meal. The meat tasted fine but I didn't care for the carrots and rice. The miso soup tasted nasty to me and the kids but my wife liked it. The salad is a joke. I ordered sushi also and that it tasted good but $5 for two pieces is a bit much. The floor needed to be swept because there was old food on it. The bathroom conditions were not impressive. The waitress was friendly enough. The fried dumplings were okay to me, the wife and kids liked them.

Food was just OK.  Not nearly as good as any Shoguns.   Service was terrible, we was there a total of 2 hours for dinner and just ordered a common meal.   Took an hour to get food.  And expensive.  4 people $140 with tip.

Food made me ill. They treat their white American employees kind of poorly. FYI.
